Timur holding court. Born near Shahrisabz in 1336, he built an empire from Delhi to Ankara without ever claiming the title of khan, and the Timurid century that followed him produced the Herat painting school that Bukhara's own miniaturists learned from. The first of two treatments Temirov painted of this subject. Inspired by Persian poetry and history, the ancient art of miniature lives on with the artist from Bukhara, Uzbekistan.
