How we pack and ship artwork
Every piece leaves the gallery in a box I build for it myself. Artwork comes in very different sizes and aspect ratios, so each custom cardboard box is reinforced according to the frame: heavier or lighter, glass or no glass.
All shipped artwork is hand-packaged with 5 protective layers:
- cardboard to protect the front surface
- foam corner-to-corner protection
- a foam pouch for all-around protection and moisture
- large bubble wrap for accidental drops and cushion
- fiberglass tape-reinforced corners and edges on the box
