Contemporary, authentic Thangka from Mustang Kindom in Nepal. This Thangka is painted by a local artist specializing in authentic, traditional Thangka design. The artist is from Lo Manthang, the former Mustang Kingdom in a remote part of Nepal, just a few kilometers from the Chinese border. Acquired directly from the artist in Lo Mаnthang and was framed in Kathmandu, Nepal. This work follows the local tradition and is framed with a three-layer rich shuttle-woven embroidery, brass knobs with a wooden stretcher bar, and a silk protective screen. For the paints and medium, rice paper is used with local mineral pigments traditionally mixed with yak ghee and decorated with gold. Thangka is measured 33'' x 21'' with embroidery.
