Lobsang Durney is a contemporary Chilean artist from Valparaiso, Chile, who currently resides in Barcelona, Spain.  In his work, Lobsang focuses on painting post-apocalyptic surrealist worlds, where he mixes realistic and imaginary subjects and storylines.

Lobsang’s work is uniquely cinematic, with each work having its own storyline, its context, protagonists and reality. His subjects are often biomechanical contraptions with images reminiscent of the Mad Max movie series.

This painting is a tribute to the Bull and all that it has had to carry through history in its relationship with man. It is a painting where the animal is transformed into a kind of precarious housing complex, where its inhabitants merge within the animal and they manage to feel part of it, its achievements and sorrows. In the center there is a symbol for the prohibition of bullfighters, although the same reference is made to bullfighting when visualizing the blood coming out of the bull's mouth and in general with intense reds. It is also a criticism of animal abuse.

Original, authentic, and unique artwork painted typically with linseed oil paints on cotton or linen canvas.
Our paintings are stretched on wooden stretcher bars, stapled on the back of the painting, and a wooden (poplar or maple) stained frame around it.  If the "Gallery Wrap" is specified, that means that there's no wooden frame, and the canvas is wrapped around the edges.
All paintings are shipped from our gallery in San Francisco with a certificate of authenticity, hanging nails, and are ready to hang on a wall.
