The second of two treatments Temirov painted of Timur receiving at court. Timur never took the title of khan, ruling instead through figureheads while conquering from Delhi to Ankara, and he made Samarkand his capital and filled it with craftsmen taken from the cities he had emptied. Painted on hand-made Samarkand paper. Inspired by Persian poetry and history, the ancient art of miniature lives on with the artist from Bukhara, Uzbekistan.
