Tavalina (Rinat Kishony) (born 1966) is a contemporary Israeli artist who specializes in vivid, highly abstracted landscape paintings executed with a palette-knife technique. She studied at the Israel Institute of Technology before traveling throughout India and Central America, establishing herself in Italy, and later returning to live and work in Israel. She has exhibited her work across multiple continents. Tavalina’s subjects are often cityscape or landscapes in her native Israel or Italy where she spends her summers. Her abstract landscapes are distilled to painterly smears of vivid pigment with angular outlines.
