Mediterranean wall art — Tavalina's Garda Lake, painted village above blue water, detail

Mediterranean Wall Art — Original Paintings for Sale

Filter

Mediterranean wall art painted on location, not composed from stock. Rinat “Tavalina” Kishony spends half the year in Italy and half in Israel, and the places are named: Bardolino on Lake Garda, a cafe in San Gimignano, the Ponte Pietra at Verona, olive fields, the yellow stone of Jerusalem, the hills behind his own house.

The palette is what carries the room — ochre, terracotta, olive, and the particular blue that only shows up near water. He paints in oil, thin and scraped back, so the buildings sit as blocks of color rather than architecture. Every piece is an original painting or a limited-edition print, framed in our San Francisco gallery before it ships.
