I just returned from a week-long trip to Japan, Tokyo and Sapporo. I loved attending the College Women's Association of Japan annual print show with over 200 contemporary Japanese woodblock, lithography, mezzotint, and silkscreen artists. I met with so many Japanese artists, friends, and family. I also finally met with the granddaughter of the Japanese artist Kenichi Kuriyagawa, Mrs. Ai Ueno, in the remote Hokkaido. And of course, I had to try some local Japanese (sea)food.
