Art House SF welcomes Feruz Temirov

Art House SF is pleased to welcome Feruz Temirov to our gallery!

Max Khusid, the gallery owner, met Feruz in the ancient city of Bukhara in October of 2024.  Feruz practices the very beautiful, intricate form of Persian (or Bukharian) miniature art.  We'll exhibit his work later in 2024.

From Feruz:

"Since ancient times, Bukhara has been famous not only for its memorial monuments but also for its great scientists and scholars. An example of this is the well-known scholar Dr. Ibn Sina (Avicenna), and the famous hadith scholar Imam Bukhari. Nowadays, Bukhara is famous for its artisans, and I try to contribute to my work.

There are many directions in painting, but I chose miniature because the art of miniature was directly related to history and literature.

I studied the historical and literary heritage of my great ancestors. I studied the works of great poets and historians: Firdavsi, Omar Khayyam, Nizami, A. Navoi and Sh.A. Yazdi, as well as famous artists K. Bekhzod, M. Muzahhib, and analyzed the artistic and historical works.

It is a great achievement and a great happiness for me if the miniatures I create will delight not only appreciators of art but also future generations!"
