Alyona Krutogolova is a contemporary Ukrainian artist based in Kyiv. She synthesizes Ukrainian folk traditions and an ironic worldview, resulting in a whimsical style she calls an "island of happiness."
On the surface, Alyona paints cute, fairy-like animals. But if we look a little closer, we'll notice that each one is a dreamer. Dreamers not confined to the limits of their bodies. They dream BIG! They dream to be gardeners, ballerinas, astronauts, ladybugs, fairies, nobility, vegans, or unicorns.
"They live every moment carefully and attentively, just like children when they eat cake, with reverence and while slightly protecting the plate with their hand, because... you never know."
The new exhibit is opening on February 6, 2026.
